image Volunteers in El Salvador have the opportunity to work in a range of community projects among El Salvador's people. The programs are based in El Salvador's cities, with placements in San Salvador, Santa Ana, and San Fernando. Volunteers are given their orientation and have the opportunity to take Spanish lessons in San Salvador, before travelling out to their placement.

Teaching English: Teach in public schools, community centres of infantile development, or in marginal or rural communities.
Community Maintenance: Take part in a range of manual work projects, allocated based on where the need is and on the volunteer's experience. Examples of potential projects include construction projects in schools, water projects and other physical activities.
Orphanage: The orphanage project offers children a home atmosphere with substitute parents, where children are nurtured physically, emotionally and psychologically. Volunteer activities include teaching English, cultural activities, recreation activities, cleaning, and construction.
Teaching English and Computing in San Fernando: Teach English and computer skills to children in a small rural town in the mountains of El Salvador.

Please visit the GVN site for more information about the program.
