The hours worked vary from school to school, but generally volunteers usually teach between 14 hours and 20 hours per week. The teaching timetable is discussed personally with the school principal, and can be tailored to the preference of each volunteer. There may be some evening and weekend classes in the program. During the weekends the schools usually organize outings. The type of teaching volunteers are expected to do will consist of helping the students practise comprehension and pronunciation.

1-May-2008: Rebecca Guffogg - Not long now!
Less then 24 hours now till i take off from Sydney. Have packed my bags and hope i haven't missed anything, i'm sure i'll find out when i need it. I have been reading lots of other people journals and i am not looking forward to the food. I'm going to try everything but i won't be asking what it is until i have finished.
